Ryan HB

Another boy birthday card!

I used Free Spirit to create the background, stamping the images with Smokey Shadow (PTI) ink onto Simply Chartreuse (PTI) cardstock. I heat embossed the scrolly designs with clear detail ep (Filigree) onto the Smokey Shadow cardstock and cut out using a PTI Mat Stack Die. The sentiment comes from Women of Life (PTI) and I popped it up on foam tape to help it stand out.

Thanks for coming by!

Sk8r Boy

Hi there! I have a cool boy card for you today. For some reason boy cards always seem tougher, however Claire makes it easy with the Free Spirit stamp set. Lots of cool, iconic images that are so much fun to work with. Here I used the skateboarder and the equalizer bars to create my focal point. My base is made of spring rain cardstock (pti). I added some strips of patterned paper (pti and doodlebug). I topped off the tops with some ribbon (american crafts) and added my stamped focal point. It came together quickly and easily. Do you have this set? How have you used it? I would love to see, link it up in the comments.

Happy Birthday

My son's friend, Suvan, is turning 5--Free Spirit stamp set to the rescue! I think lots of boys this age love bikes, so I went with that as a focal image. The background is stamped with the grid from Off-Beat Backgrounds and I used some PTI stamps for his name and the sentiment.

Thanks for looking!

Surf's Up

I have been playing with my Free Spirit Stamps again. Its just such a unique set... still haven't seen any other like it. For this card I used a green Hero Arts base. Next I layered on some Hawaiian shores that I had stamped with the hibiscus flowers in Versamagic turquoise gem ink.
Next came the white layer. I stamped the stripe on in turquoise gem. Next came the surfboards, I used versamagic inks again but I am not sure which colors and I am too lazy to get up right now. The sentiments are from Free Spirit Sentiments. I inked the edges with both the turquoise and the green color. Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping in!

Waltzing Mouse Sketch Challenge #2

Hi there! Im back with something brand new this week! I used the sketch posted on the Waltzingmouse sketch blog here. I started this card with a Hawaiian shores base (pti). I stamped it with Versamagic Turquoise Gem ink using the large circle stamp from Free Spirit. Next I cut an oval out of white and a mat out of summer sunrise (pti). I stamped the oval with the surfboards and wave stamps from Free spirit. I used some Chai Tea ink for the sand.
Next I got out some PTI Vellum and made the horizontal strip by stamping it with Turquoise Gem using the wave and circle stamps. I adhered it with vellum tape. Then I added my matted oval. Finally I stamped the hibiscus flower twice on vellum. I let it dry (that took awhile) and then colored with my copics. I cut them out and adhered them with foam tape. Last but not least I stamped Aloha underneath the horizontal strip.

Make A Wish

This card is for my son to give to his friend next weekend at his sixth birthday party. This age is tough to make cards for--to old for any cutesy images. I went with with pretty clean and simple.

Thanks for looking!

I can hardly believe that I created a (almost) one-layer card! I stamped the fun bubble image three times using Deep Lagoon ink onto cream cardstock. Simple, but such a cool image.

This card is on it's way to my brother, happy birthday Larry!!

Melissa
