Happy Birthday

It's Wednesday!

aqua and blue hb

I made this card recently using Musical Backgrounds. I have been drawn to using aqua a lot lately! The polka dot paper is from Basic Grey's Hopscotch collection and the darker blue paper and ribbon is Enchanted Evening from PTI. The "Happy birthday", from Say It With Style, was stamped using Versamark's Night Sky.

I Love You

Sorry to be gone so long! The holidays really threw me off this year, and then we've had some sickness in my house....but I'm back now!

Here's a Valentine card I made using my favorite Faux Fun background stamp, which I heat embossed with clear powder.

Faith is......

Hello!
I made today's card following the latest sketch over at the Waltzingmouse Challenge blog.
The hardest part of this card was the bow, after 30 minutes trying to tie a perfect bow I gave up :(
Do you recognize my Dp?

Thanks for looking.

Thank You

Sorry for the delay in posting today...with summer vacation in full swing, stamping time is harder to find!

I made a card following the newest Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge . What a great sketch!

My card uses some paper from Making Memories Noteworthy collection, the large knit stamp from Faux Fun, a frame from Very Vintage Labels 4 and the sentiment from Say it With Style.

Add in lots of distress ink for the edges, stitching, Prima flowers, borders and a ribbon and that's it!

The little card that couldn't...

couldn't be made in time for the huge Waltzingmouse Stamps competition last Saturday, that is! I tried to get it finished but those darn kids kept asking for food and other life neccessities!

Instead, I will share it here.

The background was made by stamping the lace border strip with Versamark on Hawaiian Shores and clear embossed. I cut the large circle using my Coluzzle circle cutter (old-school, huh?!), stamped the flowers from Spring Baskets and colored in with Copic markers. I then added the ribbon and buttons and adhered it all to a Vintage Cream base.

Just a note......

Hello!
For today's card I used the very pretty little flower from the 'Say it with Style' stamp-set. I added a little color to the flower so that it matched my background paper & I also colored the dots in on the ribbon, so everything co-ordinates :)

Thanks for looking.

Happy Birthday

I set out to try another masculine birthday card...they are tough! I also wanted to try something different and geometric. I used a stamp from the Very Vintage Label 4 set to create a background. I went back and stamped some stars from Spring Baskets in each shape. I cut out a label 4 with the die and stamped again, and then stamped the sentiment from Say it with Style. Not my favorite card ever, but it was fun to try!

Purple Hearts

I'm in love with this small heart image.  I found it tucked away in Waltzingmouse Say It With Style.  Sometimes I overlook little gems in sets -- especially in big sets.  So while I was rummaging around in my enormous mess of a stamp room I spotted this heart and the light bulb went off.  I can see making a set of these in a variety of colors with different sentiments.  (I can see a lot of things -- hope I actually do this one!)

Card Construction Details:

1.  Cut cardstock to A2 size and placed on Stampin Up grid paper.
2.  Stamped the heart on the right side of the card first, being careful to note exactly where it was near the grid paper.
3.  Then stamped sentiment.
4.  Stamped heart on the immediate left of sentiment, then the left edge near the same grid line, then in the middle of those two.  I'm spelling this out for those of you who, like me, have a hard time lining things up.
5.  Colored hearts with Copic marker and added rhinestones.
6.  Added ribbon.
7.  Because the cardstock I used bleeds through when using Copics, I cut a slightly smaller piece of cardstock and lined the front inside.  Hides the ribbon too.

Mood when done:  Happy!

Supplies:  Waltzingmouse Stamps Say It With Style
Ink:  Memento Tuxedo
Cardstock:  PTI Stampers Select White
Other:  PTI Plum Pudding ribbon, Copic Sketch Marker  V95 Light Grape; random rhinestones
