Happy July 4!

Not my usual day to post, but I decided to post early for the holiday. Stamps are from Sewing Box Hugs and I used my SLICE for the sentiment. I then used scallop scissors and scraps of paper for the border.

Happy Birthday Chickie

I need to admit that this is my most favorite little stamp. This little chickie is in the Lil Buddies set. It came out at Easter but its such a great set for any occasion. He does not come with the little hat. I got that from an old studio G set. I just cut it apart from the rest of the stamp and with a little masking it works perfectly. Chickie is framed out with one of the circles from Vintage circles.
As you can see I colored with my copics. All the colors are shown in the first picture. I stamped everything in Palette burnt umber. Then I glittered everything thing up with some stickles and doodlebug fancy frills. The card base is New Leaf cardstock by PTI. The pp is from Doodlebug.

More Asian Gardens!

Did you see Claire's new release with an Asian Gardens Additions set!  Wow, she is one creative woman.  And Rescue Remedies!  So clever and beautiful (and sold out immediately!).

Ok, on to today's card!

A little vellum goes a long way to soften the message.

Card Construction Details:

1.  White panel, masked off sides to make square.
2.  Starting in center stamped the small flower from Asian Gardens repeatedly with 4 different Memento inks. Yes, this means very carefully wiping off each image after stamping.  I use a baby wipe to clean clear stamps.  Easy.
3.  Stamped sentiment on vellum with two inks.  Using the dew drop size ink pads makes this easy.  Trimmed.
4.  Stamped larger circle and then a small circle on top of it to made a medallion like image to anchor the sentiment.  Punched and added it to a punched vellum circle.
5.  Put the whole thing together with a few layers.

Hint:  Scotch Brand Double Sided Temporary Adhesive doesn't show through vellum.

Christmas in July

I don't know how "Christmas in July" got started, but since it's July 1st and I'm on the road, I thought I'd pull up these projects from last year to share today.

I just love the vintage look of these designs and there are so many options with these sets - once you get going, it's hard to stop :) .

PHEW!

I'm running late, been a busy day. It's near the end of term for my girls. I've been busy running around sorting teacher gifts etc... and the girls got their end of year reports today, I'm very proud of them.
Anyway about the card, I was asked to make a retirement card so here it is! I used the fab 'Asian Gardens' and this sentiment was rolling about in my head while I was making the card so I just printed it off & put it on the card.
