Christmas Thank You Card

I used one of the WMS frame stamps but inked the reverse side around the edges for a 'grunge' or distressed-looking frame, added the holly and berries.

For the pine branches, I masked the frame area and then stamped off randomly; some branches are stamped off and some aren't.

I used my Crop-a-Dile to punch the two circles on either side of the berries, and wrapped PTI baker's twine around and through the holes, tied in a knot.

Also, I applied glue to the outer edge of the frame, holly leaf tips and berries, then "frosted" with SU Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

Tree card

WMS Tree

Happy 1st of December!

I created this card using stamps from Nutcracker Sweet: the tree and the bow image. I stamped and then colored with my Copic markers. I'm still debating on adding a sentiment to the front, or just making something on the inside.

Thanks for looking!

Gingerbread Tags

Hi there! I have some cute tags today, that feature the adorable gingerbread boy from the Half baked set. Half baked was one of Claire's first sets. It is adorable. If you always wanted a build a gingerbread man set, then look no further. The holly berries and sentiment are from Hero Arts- not sure which set, I have had them quite a while. The tag die is from PTI and the twine is Martha Stewart. Hope you have a great Sunday!

Christmas Tags

Today I have some cute little tags I made with my brand new WMS goodies yesterday. The adorable wreath and berries is from the set, Around Christmas Time. The sentiment comes from the same set. I stamped it on rustic cream cardstock, punched it with my 1.75 punch and mounted it on a scalloped piece of scarlet jewel. The entire thing is put on a kraft tag that I made with the PTI tag sale 2 die. A little bit of scarlet jewel ribbon finishes it off.

Waltzingmouse Christmas

P1050598
I have some WMS Christmas yumminess for you! I think you will recognize that gorgeous label right off, it was released last month. I had to use a PTI sentiment as none of my WMS ones were big enough (guess I will need to go buy me some sentiments, eh?). I used Off beat backgrounds for the white polkadots. I layed down some score tape and covered it in martha stewart glitter. Next up some pure poppy twill and a lovely, sparkly spring rain button.

Waltzingmouse meets Pyrus

I love Basic Grey's new Pyrus paper ... the colors, the patterns . . .

So I was really happy when, looking through my WMS stamps, I came across a couple in the Rescue Remedies set that instantly made me think of this paper!  A perfect combination!

Claire often includes so many wonderful little flourishes and designs
in her stamp sets that there are treasures at every turn.

This round flower stamp and leafy flourish are incredibly cool.

I used PTI cardstock and BG Pyrus as well as a little piece of
Basic Grey's Indian Summer patterned paper.

The floral image was stamped with Versamagic Potter's Clay,
and the the leafy stamp in Spanish Olive and Fresh Snow,
which was also used to edge the entire card, direct-to-paper.

I added little bronze beads because. . . well, there were
perfect spots to add little bronze beads!!  :^)

The felt embellishment and ribbon are from SU.

Thanks for visiting - have a fabulous weekend!!
And don't forget to stop by Claire's blog for sneaky peeks,
and an amazing release on Sunday!!!
YAY!!!

Happy Halloween!

I hope Michele doesn't mind me peeking in on her day!!   I feel a little guilty about missing my post this past week. . . I didn't get the usual stack of Halloween cards made this year but still managed a couple of items.

I completely {heart} Walzingmouse's "Midnight Feast" stamp set!!   I used it for my daughter's class's Halloween treats, and also for her teacher's card:

First, the treat boxes which I made using Stampin' Up's milk carton die:

It's a pretty small box but I managed to squeeze in a mini bag of M&Ms, Smarties, and a McDonald's gift certificate.

I used Claire's stars and bats, and her spookalicious sentiment
to decorate the boxes, punched a hole with Crop-a-Dile in the top
and tied it off with a black twine bow.

I also turned to "Midnight Feast" for her teacher's card:

This amazing paper is "Blackbird" from Memory Box
and "Midnight Feast" did the rest :^) .

Here's the inside with the McDonald's gift card in place:

This set has so many amazing stamps, especially this Gothic arch!

And when you take out the gift card:

You find the witch zooming past the crescent moon :^) .

I love making Halloween cards and missed it this year,
but I know I'll have a bunch for next year using
"Midnight Feast."   It's fabby!!!

Hope your Halloween was super spooky!!!

A Tag

Good Morning and Happy Halloween! I've got a little tag today. I made it using Claire's free download a while back. I usually don't do digi but she was so cute I couldn't resist. I colored her up with copics and then added tons of wild honey distress ink. I rounded the corners and matted her on some older making memories paper. Big ole bow on the top finishes things off. Thanks for stopping in!

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #19

Hi there! There is a new sketch up at Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge. Just click for details. I decided to use my Tiny Trees set. I heart this set so much!
I used a Kraft base (PTI) and some lovely Cosmo Cricket paper. I think its from the nutmeg collection. I strung some buttons on some rustic twine and stamped the sentiment underneath, then I added a rustic twine bow.
I was feeling extra crafty so I finished off the inside. I am really proud of this one! Thanks for stopping by!

Autumn Tiny Trees

Sorry I missed Thursday again!  But I had great fun sitting down with Claire's Tiny Trees set tonight.  I was in the mood for using some patterned paper.  This time I chose Stampin' Up's luxurious textured autumn patterns.

"Paper piecing" with the tree shapes, 1-3/4" punched circles,
some sponging, some direct-to-paper ink application,
and lots of SU foam dimensionals.
You can click on the photos and
(+) zoom in for closeups!

I used the little leaf stamps by stamping off the ink one time
so they were nice and light on the sentiment panel.

Cardstock is Papertrey Ink, and the ink used is
Memento rich cocoa and
various fall shades of Versamagic and Memento.

Hope you're having a Happy Fall!

Thanks for coming by :^) .

Birthday Wishes

This is the best set EVER! Have you seen Teeny Trees? You need this set. You do. Trust me on this one. I have made like 10 cards in the last two days because I am so inspired by this set. LOVE it! Claire is a genius! So on this card I used the biggest tree to make the hills. I then sponged a bit more ink onto them. Next I took the tiny trunk and stamped it in dark chocolate. I took some spring rain ink and sponged it on for sky. Then I came back and added the leaves. Claire has included every kind of leaf cluster you could possibly want. Its awesome. And the font on the sentiments? Oh mercy me, its GORGEOUS!!! I am in love. I hand drew those tiny birds- it was a little empty up there. Hope you enjoy!

"Fabby" Nutcracker!

You may be getting used to it but I still can't believe I'm here on a Saturday again!!   You may not remember this, but my usual post day is supposed to be Thursday, LOL!

Well, let's just get on with the card because it uses one of Claire's Nutracracker Sweet fellas and I just love those nutcrackers!!

I usually don't even get to Halloween or Thanksgiving cards quite yet, but these nutcrackers are irresistable!   He's colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol, and Spica gold glitter pen.

For the background patterned paper, I stamped using my CHF Scrapblock of vintage text.

Clara of "The Nutcracker" would have loved these!  It's a story my daughter and I have read over and over every year and have a favorite version with beautiful watercolors.  Hmmm... When I look at the nutcracker stamps, these bold colors come to mind but maybe I'll have to give watercolor a try, too.  Goodness knows I'll be using these stamps over and over again, too.

Thanks for coming by!!

Christmas Basket

Wow! I almost missed my day. If you cruise my blog, you saw this yesterday. I was saving it for today but then my brain misfired- and well you know the rest! Anyway today's card uses basket editions and spring baskets. I have some pure poppy card and basic grey patterned paper. I added some stickles and glitter because I like things that sparkle!

Magnet Board

I have a 3D project to share today -- not something I do a lot of, but this weekend my daughter and I are going to a mother-daughter stamping event and the daughters are having a "secret sister" exchange.  What we know about the girl whose name was given to us is that she is 11 years old, likes sewing, and likes purple.  Sewing just made bells go off for one of the stitched sets at Waltzingmouse Stamps, Sewing Box Hugs.

The base of the project is a 5 x 7 piece of metal flashing material.  I used the Corner Chomper for the rounded corners.  The paper is all Papertrey Ink patterned paper.

For the magnets, I stamped images from Sewing Box Hugs several times on various patterned papers.  Then I assembled the pieces and embossed multiple times with UTEE (ultra thick embossing enamel).  The embossed paper images are then backed with cardstock for more sturdiness -- and it's a good thing because the magnets attached to the backs with E6000 are really strong!

It was a little tricky to do the embossing with the layers of paper piecing, especially the bird with three pieces of paper.  My original idea had been to simply stamp the images on Bristol vellum and color with Copics, then treat with coats of UTEE.  I may re-do the magnets that way and I'll show you the results the next time.

Here's a close-up of one of the magnets:

Here's an example that I posted here months ago of how the UTEE looks on Copic-colored images:

I'll post the new magnets a bit later.  I still like the paper piecing so maybe we'll just give her both!  She can always use them in her locker or on the fridge. . .  Oh my, now I just want to make school locker magnets!  :^)

ETA:   I did do a couple of more magnets with the same stamps colored with Copics. . . but of course forgot to take a picture!!  Since my daughter would like some herself, I'll make some more and show you them another day!

Better get busy!!   See you later and thanks for coming by!
