Big Bow Thank-You

Let's see. . .why am I posting on Saturday?

Well, when Thursday rolled around this past week, I really thought it was Wednesday . . . and I haven't had much time to stamp lately. . . and I'm on a new laptop.  .  .  .

Digital photo management has always been a bugaboo of mine ~ and I could just cry not having good ol' reliable Picture Manager anymore :*( .   None of the programs I've tried will resize and alter photos as effortlessly.  Oh well. . .enough complaining - on with the card!

I originally was going to do this card in black, red and white.  But when I started out and checked to see if I had a piece of red cut already, I saw the terracota and thought it would look nice with a dark gray.

And since I had a pretty simple design in mind, when it came time for the ribbon I thought, "why not try a great big bow?"  I did the kind of bow where you make two loops to start and tie them together -- just used two loops in each hand.

I used foam dimensionals to mount the sentiment and matting pieces -- it adds interest and was really necessary to keep the sentiment on the same level (literally and figuratively) with the big bow.   The little metal embellishment balances things out a bit.

I tried a watermark and a little "glow" or fade-out around the edges of the close-up photo.  Can't even remember which program I did that in, LOL!

I'll try to be back on time next week!!   Thanks for coming by :^) .

Stamps:  Waltzingmouse Stamps
Ink:  Brilliance, Papertrey Ink (fresh snow)
Cardstock:  PTI (smokey shadow, terracotta tile)
Other:  PTI ribbon, SU lattice embossing folder, sponge dauber, SU foam dimensionals, metal embellishment unknown.

  1. Nice card, I like the way you shaded with the Fresh Snow ink to create interest on the background panel.
